The Marekebisho Media Awards Oversight Committee

An oversight committee will oversee the entire implementation and adjudication of the Marekebisho Media Awards for Excellence Programme.  Members are prominent professionals in the media, content experts on GJLOS issues, representatives of participating institutions and those providing technical assistance to the programme. The Chairman of the Committee is Mr Joe Kadhi.

• Joe Kadhi – Former Editor at the Daily Nation and Journalism Lecturer, USIU (Chairman).
• Esther Kamweru - Executive Director Media Council (Vice Chair) and former Editor at the Standard -Vice Chairperson.
• Polycarp Ochilo – Director, National Anti-Corruption Steering Committee,  former Journalism Lecturer and Editor at Kenya Broadcasting Corporation.
• Gladys Shollei – Secretary/CEO National Council for Law Reporting.
• Wambui Kiai – Director, School of Journalism and Mass Communication, University of Nairobi.
• Gichira Kibara – Director of Legal Affairs, Ministry of Justice and Constitutional Affairs.
• Kathurima M’Inoti – Chairperson,  Kenya Law Reform Commission.
• Wanza  Kioko – Law Lecturer, University of Nairobi.
• Dr. Karuti Kanyinga – Lecturer and Political Scientist, University of Nairobi.

• Jacques Carstens -  Chief Technical Coordinator, GJLOS Programme Coordination Office.
• Rebecca Muniu –Advocacy and Outreach Specialist – GJLOS  Programme Coordination Office.
